Hollis Prism 2 (P2) CCR – Performance & Precision in Houston

From Air Diluent to Normoxic Trimix: Master the P2 at Gulf Coast Scuba

The Hollis Prism 2 is a world-class electronically controlled CCR (eCCR) known for having the lowest Work of Breathing (WOB) of any mixed-gas rebreather on the market. Whether you are a photographer seeking silence or a technical explorer pushing deep wrecks, the P2 offers a level of comfort and automation that makes complex diving feel effortless.

At Gulf Coast Scuba, we are Houston’s premier Hollis dealer. We offer a full IANTD training path on the P2, taking you from entry-level Air Diluent all the way to Normoxic Trimix at 200 feet.

Why the Prism 2 is the Industry Leader

  • Best-in-Class Breathing: Tested by ANSTI at 100m, the P2 delivers an industry-best 1.57 J/L WOB, significantly reducing diver fatigue and CO2 risk.

  • Electronic Intelligence: Powered by Shearwater electronics, the P2 monitors your PO2 across three sensors and automatically maintains your setpoint, allowing you to focus on the dive.

  • Radial Scrubber Design: The 5.5 lb (2.5 kg) radial scrubber provides high efficiency and up to 4-5 hours of duration, with a clear bucket that allows for a visual "positive loop" integrity check.

  • Customizable Counterlungs: Choose between Over-the-Shoulder (OTS) for traditional comfort or Back-Mounted (BMCL) for a completely clear chest—ideal for photography and stage bottle management.

  • Dual Monitoring: Includes a primary eye-level LED Heads-Up Display (HUD) and a large, full-color Shearwater Petrel 3 secondary display.

Your Prism 2 Training Path in Houston

We offer a complete, structured IANTD curriculum for the P2 platform:

  • IANTD Prism 2 Air Diluent: The essential start. Learn unit assembly, calibration, and the fundamentals of eCCR diving.

  • IANTD Prism 2 Air Diluent Decompression: Take your P2 into staged decompression, learning to manage the unit during complex ascent profiles.

  • IANTD Prism 2 Normoxic Trimix: The elite level. Use Helium to eliminate narcosis and extend your P2 exploration range to 200 fsw (60 msw) with total clarity.

  • Q: Is the Hollis Prism 2 good for travel?

    • A: Yes. The P2 is designed to be modular. When stripped of cylinders and weights, it is light enough to be packed for international travel to remote dive destinations.

  • Q: What electronics does the Prism 2 use?

    • A: The Prism 2 is powered by Shearwater electronics, specifically the Petrel 3, which is widely considered the most reliable and user-friendly dive computer in the technical diving world.

  • Q: Can I dive the P2 manually?

    • A: Yes. While it is an electronic CCR, it features manual addition valves for both Oxygen and Diluent, giving the diver total manual backup control at all times.
