The PADI Advanced Open water course will allow you to go as deep as 100 feet! Beyond that, the PADI Advanced open water course is designed to fine tune and increase your diving skills. This course involve five Adventure Dives which you review in your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Manual. Then we practice those skills diving in local lakes around Texas. Of those five dives, two are required – a Deep Dive and a Navigation Dive. The other three dives most common Adventure Dives are Search & Recover, Peak Performance Buoyancy, and a Wreck Dive The Advanced Certification is usually completed over one weekend. The Deep Dive is usually done in Austin at Lake Travis.
The PADI Advanced Open Water course candidate is going about the physiological and physical effects diving deeper. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and teaches you better navigation skills using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time. Have you ever wonder how much lead weight you really need? Our Peak Performance Buoyancy dive will answer that question and it might surprise you. Have you ever dropped something while diving and failed to find it? Our Search and Recovery dive will give you new skills to find missing objects. Last but not least, our Wreck Dive will teach you have safely dive around sunken objects, which attract underwater wildlife but also have certain hazards.
While not mandatory, we highly encourage Advanced students to own their personal gear (mask, fins, snorkel, booties) as well as a compass and a SMB (submersible marker buoy). Unlike many of our competitors, we do not require you to purchase that gear and it is available for rent.
